What is Gaviscon Double Action Liquid?
Gaviscon Double Action Mint liquid are a treatment for the symptoms of gastro-oesophageal reflux such as acid regurgitation, heartburn and indigestion, for example, following meals or during pregnancy and for symptoms of excess stomach acid (hyperacidity).
This liquid contains three active ingredients calcium carbonate, sodium alginate and sodium bicarbonate. The calcium carbonate and sodium bicarbonate work as antacids to neutralise your stomach acid and ease the pain and discomfort this can cause. The sodium alginate works by forming a protective barrier over the contents of your stomach, preventing acid reflux and soothing irritation in your chest and throat.

If you are allergic to any of the ingredients this medication contains
Speak to your GP before use if:
You are pregnant or breastfeeding
You have severe kidney problems
You have electrolyte disturbance causing a low level of phosphate in the blood, also known as hypophosphatemia
You suffer or have suffered from significant kidney or heart disease
You have reduced amounts of gastric acid in your stomach
Ingredients
Active Ingredients: Each 10 ml of oral suspension contains 500mg sodium alginate, 213mg sodium bicarbonate, and 325mg calcium carbonate as the active ingredients.
Other ingredients: carbomer, methyl (E218) and propyl (E216) parahydroxybenzoates, sodium saccharin, fennel flavour, sodium hydroxide, and water.
This product does not contain sugar or gluten.
