Fucibet contains 2 different types of medicine. One medicine is called fusidic acid which is a type of antibiotic and the other medicine is called betamethasone valerate which is a type of corticosteroid (steroid). These 2 medicines work at the same time in different ways.
Fucibet works by:
The antibiotic killing germs (bacteria) that cause infections.
The corticosteroid reducing any swelling, redness or itchiness of your skin.
With an eczema flare ups the skin barrier is damaged and the skin can become inflamed, swollen, and itchy. A flare-up also causes the skin to become broken and cracked and this makes it easier for bacteria to enter the skin and cause an infection. Signs of infected eczema include weeping skin, a crust on the surface of the skin, and fever. Fucibet works to kill the bacteria and reduce the swelling.
Fucibet Cream can be used to treat dry skin conditions which may also have a secondary bacterial infection. These conditions can include:
Atopic eczema
Primary irritant dermatitis
Allergic dermatitis
Seborrheic dermatitis
